Even though technology was already expected to grow globally, with the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), smartphones, smart cars, e-commerce, cryptocurrencies, dating apps and transportation apps – among many others – the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and the mandatory quarantine demanded governments and companies to take action and implement new ways to satisfy people’s needs, both existing and new ones that would be generated.
This growth was already well underway in some countries such as the United Arab Emirates, the United States and countries in northern Europe; however, in other countries growth was slower. Currently, 62.5% of the world’s population uses the Internet, 10.10% uses social networks and 30.6% makes purchases from a cell phone. And it is estimated that the internet of things will reach 1.2 billion people in the world by 2025. Therefore, we see digital transformation is not an isolated event but something transversal and universal, allowing a democratization of the internet and a shift in paradigms.
The advancement of technology brought much more than new needs, it also generated an unprecedented change in the labor market, creating new jobs and a growing need for talent.
Software development positions in different languages, mobile, web, and desktop development; engineers specialized in data, Blockchain (for the growing cryptocurrency market); architects for the cloud; UX designers; and so many new booming professions that arise with this technological revolution lead us to infer that hiring these profiles in such a competitive world really becomes like finding a “needle in a haystack”. Therefore, IT recruitment is starting to take center stage as a key activity within this growth.
IT recruitment is the activity in which specialized professionals detect talents within the world of technology. Having the task of searching, recruiting, screening – selecting the best candidate for the requirements of each vacancy.
This activity, leveraged by technological progress, is positioned as one of the most demanded roles. Given that it generates a high impact on organizations, it is characterized by having the capacity for analysis and strategy, having as a premise to find suitable and matching profiles for the position. It requires having recruiters with great expertise in technologies within a growing and changing environment, developing processes that include networking, foresight for possible future searches and ensuring a good experience for both candidates and clients.
That is why, at IT Scout, we believe it is vital to understand the particularities of each position, the technologies, and the client and candidate needs – and thus be able to design a strategy to optimize resources, adapting processes to the agility used in the IT world, and creating a natural connection that allows a direct relationship with talent.
